Expectations --> Disappointments?

Disappointment is often a hateful feeling, making you wonder why things turned out in such a way. Yet, if you think about it, the preceding requirement for disappointment is none other than expectation. Logically, without expectations, there wouldn't be disappointments would there? Imagine yourself going into an exam without a care as to how you would do. It wouldn't matter as much whether you got an A or an F since an A is a bonus and an F is, well, just a letter.

Sometimes we go into an issue with an intended result (or at least a hope) and it doesn't turn out quite as we would have wished it to. Even so, we may well be better off than before we started since there was really nothing to lose but everything to gain. Perhaps we didn't gain 100% but even 20% is a bonus to some extent. It's a bit hard to picture what I'm trying to say but it's basically trying to take whatever that come as a bonus and not get overly disappointment if things don't go the way you had hoped.

That said and done, expectations will always be there and have to be there for obvious reasons. It's just that, some things are simply beyond our control so we try but whether it comes to fruition is still largely just beyond our reach. On my part, I admit it seems more so like a consolation rather than a train of thought but it's on a personal level which doesn't affect others and serves to pacify and maintain peace within oneself. Disappointments are far from few and far between so...whatever works!
